Abstract The role or function of experimental and observational replication within empirical science has implications for how should be measured. Broadly, there seems to consensus that replication’s central goal is confirm vouchsafe the reliability scientific findings. I argue if this correct, then most measures used in literature are actually poor indicators confirmation. Only meta-analytic align functionally with goals replication. conclude by addressing some objections meta-analysis.
